One of the biggest challenges I run across when designing a logo / identity package is what people name their companies. When I asked Dr. Khazz what the name of her dental office was and she replied "Awesome Smiles" I was stoked and a bit afraid of the challenge. I mean, you can't make a less-than-awesome logo for a business that has the word Awesome in it!

The challenge was designing a logo that's simple, friendly, memorable, awesome, smiley (without making it corny), non-anxiety inducing (not a huge fan of the dentist myself or anyone I know for that matter), friendly and smart, while keeping in mind that this will be used on printed material, signage, apps, the web and social media. I love my job. I really do.

After a few dozen ideas, color combinations and endless vector paths in Illustrator, I, and Dr.Khazz were both excited with the result! (Many designers tried and failed before me, so... no pressure!)

The design package:
+ Logo
+ Business Cards
+ Mailers
+ Signage
+ Brochures
+ Web
+ Social Media
+ Gift Cards
+ Car Wrap

To return the challenge, I became Awesome Smile's patient myself. Below is my x-ray and it 'ain't so awesome.

<description>I love geocaching. I also love podcasts. The Geocaching Podcast is one of the best if you're into that type of thing. If you're not, check it out at: My Username on Geocaching is zoroe, add me!

The podcast deserved a new awesome look and this design will replace the current... not so awesome one. It was mostly designed in Photoshop CS5, but elements were done in Illustrator also.

		<description>Sony Ux: // Playstation Plus Video Unlimited // 10' experience // a.k.a. Project Tam

This was the main project I worked on, with a team made up of some of the industry's best for 2 years while at Sony Ux Creative Center in San Francisco. It's been announced and will be shipping very soon. It's a UI-less UI, elegant and clean with simple transitions and smart navigation metaphors.

We solved many difficult 10 foot UI issues, such as a great and speedy text input mechanism, which is usually a very unpleasant experience. I also designed / invented a very simple but unique loader animation which was patented by Sony and done in After Effects for this project which will be used by millions of Playstation users worldwide.

I designed a similar conceptual layout for Hulu+ for the Playstation that you can see below.
